About Dr. Charlie Moore

Charlie Moore, MD, is an otolaryngologist and head and neck surgeon with comprehensive training in chronic ear, nose, and throat conditions. He provides compassionate and effective care to patients at Southern ENT Associates in the New Iberia and Youngsville, Louisiana offices. 

Originally from New Iberia, Dr. Moore graduated summa cum laude with his computer science and software engineering undergraduate degree from Louisiana State University (LSU) in  Baton Rouge, Louisiana. 

He earned his medical degree from LSU Health Sciences Center in Shreveport, Louisiana, and was elected to the nation’s most prestigious medical honor society, Alpha Omega Alpha. Dr. Moore was also the recipient of the Cheryl Clark Lyles Outstanding Student Award in Otolaryngology.

Dr. Moore completed his residency training in otolaryngology and head and neck surgery at the University of Cincinnati in Cincinnati, Ohio. He spent a significant portion of his training in the world-renown ENT department at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital. There, he received a grant from the American Society of Pediatric Otolaryngology to study DNA alternations in children with obstructive sleep apnea. 

During residency, Dr. Moore also researched and published papers on pediatric airway reconstruction and the microbiology of chronic rhinosinusitis.

Dr. Moore can diagnose and treat a realm of otolaryngology issues. He has special interests in comprehensive pediatric ENT care, thyroid and parathyroid gland surgery, medical and surgical management of sinus disease and allergy, and surgical management of obstructive sleep apnea, including the inspire hypoglossal nerve stimulator implant. 

With extensive and well-rounded surgical training, Dr. Moore also treats chronic ear diseases, including hearing loss, neck masses and head and neck cancer, and voice and swallowing disorders. 

When Dr. Moore is away from the office, he spends time with his wife Caroline, who he met as an undergraduate at LSU, and his two children. Dr. Moore enjoys playing the guitar and piano, carpentry, and LSU sports. He also has a passion for cooking, especially smoking meats, making hot sauce, and all things Cajun.
